We have used vintage textiles that are over 50 years old. These have been hand stitched far and wide by village communities in West Bengal, and have been ethically and sustainably sourced. We are supporting important livelihoods across rural regions. Imperfections in vintage, re-purposed fabrics, are not uncommon and are a part of its rich life story. Woven together to form its character and charm and a reminder of it's previous life, and its unique one-of-a-kind piece.

Kantha: is the term used to describe the typical 'running stitch' needlework. This work is carefully done by hand (mostly by women) who sit together and stitch slowly, over several weeks and months. Our kantha embroidery features multiple layers of old fabric stitched together in its purpose to provide quilting and warmth. The thickness of each jacket depends on the amount of layers used, so each jacket can vary.

Jacket depth: very thick

100% cotton. Due to its needlework, cold hand wash is recommended, though it may be washed on a delicate machine wash setting, in a cool temperature (under 30 and low spin).
